Search result conversion

Updated 2026-10-03

What it is

Search result conversion is the share of App Store search impressions that became downloads. If the listing was shown 10,000 times in search and 81 of those views became downloads, the rate is 0.81%.

A low search rate next to a healthier browse rate points at the search result itself: the icon, the title, and the first screenshots. The product page is a later step.

What to do with it

Treat it as the week's decision only when the report has enough impressions to read. Then change one thing you can see in that result, and compare the rate in the days after.

Does Google Play show the same rate?

Play does not export listing visitors or the search impression split the App Store report uses. Play work still covers the listing text, screenshots, and reviews.

Is a keyword score the same as this rate?

No. Popularity and difficulty are estimates about a word. Search result conversion is a count from your own App Store Connect report.
